Officer Greg Cathcart

Officer Cathcart started as a patrol officer in December 2007. 

Officer Cathcart is a native of Asheville. Prior to joining the Hendersonville Police Department, he served eighteen years with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department, where his most recent position was Sergeant of the School Resource Officer Division. 

Officer Cathcart has attended numerous training programs, including the management course for Gang Resistance Education Training. He holds the Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate and an Associate’s Degree from Asheville Buncombe Technical College.

He is currently attending Montreat College pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Officer Cathcart has one son, Dakota, age 13, and currently resides in Etowah.

Officer Cathcart is proud to be part of such a professional and progressive department.

 

 
           
   

Officer Joe Cowan

Officer Cowan started as a patrol officer in December 2007. 

Officer Cowan is from the Fairview area in Buncombe County and recently served four years in the United States Marine Corps.

 He is currently taking classes from Western Carolina University with the goal of obtaining his criminal justice degree. 

Officer Cowan is single and lives in the Hendersonville area.

 

 
           
   

Officer Curtis Philon

Officer Philon started as a patrol officer in December 2007.

Officer Philon was born in Laurel, MS and grew up in Waynesboro MS.  He has two years of colllege classes. 

Officer Philon is single and lives in the Hendersonville area.

 

 
           
   

Officer Kyle Nix

Officer Nix started as a patrol officer in December 2007.

Officer Nix graduated from Hendersonville High School and grew up in the Edneyville and Hendersonville area.

Officer Nix is single and currently resides in the Hendersonville area.
