About the Chief

 Chief Blake assumed duties as chief of police for the city of Hendersonville on January 2, 2008. His other law enforcement experiences include police chief for the city of Loris, South Carolina for seven years, patrol and support services lieutenant with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in Ridgeland, SC for four years, patrol officer with the town of Ridgeland, SC, reserve deputy sheriff with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, as well as a law enforcement specialist with the US Navy.

 Chief Blake has a Master’s Degree in Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Park University. He is a graduate of the 35th Management College at the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration in Plano TX, the Police Executive Development Course (POLEX) at Penn State University, and a host of other leadership development programs. Chief Blake has served as adjunct faculty for business and for criminal justice courses at an array of area colleges. The chief has also written articles that have been published by some of the leading periodicals in law enforcement. He is retired from the US Navy, and was a repeated Drug Free National Powerlifting Champion.

Update 10/1/08: Chief Blake recently completed the North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training and is in the process of becoming certified by Criminal Justice & Standards Commission in Raleigh.
